This program will cover the relationship the Nurse Leader has with the Administrator and how to communicate within the partnership. It also explores the new culture change needed within LTC. A review of the regulatory changes in ’17 and ’19 will be held. Nursing department budgets will be discussed and hands on practice of developing a staffing model used in budgeting. This program, will also cover how the facility is reimbursed and the role of the Nurse Leader in QAPI and survey.
It outlines the responsibilities of the DON role.
Participants will be eligible for 14 Contact hours upon completion of the course. This course will prepare the Nurse Leader to take the CDONA™ board certification exam as well as introduce and refresh nurse leaders.
Learners must attend the entire session (live presentation or 11 webinars) and receive a passing post-test with a score of at least 80% in order to receive a certificate of contact hours.
