This course is perfect for Assisted Living Nurse Leaders who want to review before the CALN certification exam. It is also a good review for nurse leaders to prepare for a managing role in an Assisted Living facility. This is a work at your own pace program. Go as slow or as fast as you want. You have one year to complete this course.
This educational activity will outline the role of the Assisted Living (AL) Nurse. This program will cover medical conditions that the AL nurse may encounter. Infectious disease outbreaks including PPE and transmission precautions, death and dying, and communication with families will be discussed. Medications from administration to absorption, anti-psychotics and the use of herbals will be explored. Skin conditions, Immunizations, ADLs and restorative nursing are also covered. This course examines falls and incident/accident reporting as well as elder abuse, HR, service plans, regulations and other systems found in Assisted Living facilities.
