CDONA™ Certified Director of Nursing Exam

Requirement: Have been a DON for at least 1 year if similar experience please call Cindy Fronning @651-324-8415 for a determination of qualification.

Successful completion of this exam bestows the credentials of CDONA to the participant and identifies the credentialed person as an expert in the area of Director of Nursing, LTC. There is no study guide available for this exam, however there is a course available that covers all the areas tested in the exam except clinical. A nurse’s experience should be adequate for the clinical exam questions. (See Nurse Leader Certification Prep & Training)

1. Purchase the exam.

2. Directions for taking the exam and the link to the exam will be emailed out the next working day.  (Office hours are 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday). Once you receive the link to the exam you may take it anytime.

3. You will have 2 (two) attempts to pass the exam. If more attempts are needed the exam will need to be purchased again.

4. Plan for at least 3 (three)  hours to take the exam. There are 204 questions on the exam. The entire exam needs to be completed in order to pass it. The pass rate is 80%.
