I started in long term care in 1973 as a CNA and have been in long term care the entire 43 years. I thoroughly enjoy caring for the elderly population and felt led to go into the professional field of nursing as a very young age.
I graduated from Indiana University, Kokomo, in 1979. My career as a RN included working in staff positions such as Floor Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, Staff Development as well as many years as a Director of Nursing. I also served as a Nurse Consultant for a LTC company overseeing and assisting skilled facilities with daily processes.
After graduating from the Master’s program at Indiana
Wesleyan University, I worked as an ARNP in Florida for 10 years in long term care and 4 years in Tennessee as an ANP. Currently I am the Corporate QAPI Director for TLC Management in Indiana overseeing Survey Management; Infection Control and Nursing Education Advancement.
