Join speakers Vicki Burlew and Sandy Place for an update on the areas most pertinent to the clinical team — Residents’ Rights; Admission; Discharge and Transfer; Abuse Identification, Investigation and Reporting; Quality of Life and Care; Infection Control; and Trauma-informed Care with behavioral health care planning. Together, participants and the workshop speakers will identify strategies to implement the changes.

Virtual Workshop Summary

This session discusses the changes to the regulations and survey process effective October 24, 2022. About the Speaker: Vickie Burlew, RN, LNHA

Vickie Burlew is a mentor and coach to LTC facilities in the area of regulatory and clinical care. She advocates for the homes and their residents believing that providing person-directed care is the road to compliance. Currently she is employed by Lebenbom & Rothman Consulting working with you for the best outcomes for your elders.

About the Speaker: Sandy Place, LNHA, MA

Sandra L. Place is a Healthcare Consultant and Educator, a licensed nursing home administrator and holds certifications and trainings in several holistic modalities including End of Life Doula. She is a long-time advocate of Person Directed Care and utilizes her graduate degrees in psychology and holistic health to aid healthcare environments in the development of innovative programs including culture change and end of life care. Ms. Place specializes in healthcare organizational change and end of life programming in post-acute care. Additionally, she teaches at the Michigan State University Henry Center for Executive Development as an instructor for the Nursing Home Administrator’s Course.
